EDO FARINA 🅧 XRP@edward_farina · Mar 13 Uncovering #Evengrade Crisis: How Evergrande's Crisis could collapse #Tether  and #Bitcoin  🧵 Take a moment and grab a cup of coffe, as per my recommendation espresso (no sugar) and let's unfold the major systemic risk that will change Crypto forever.  Let's begin with the Controversial #Tether inception: #Tether  was founded in 2014 under the name "Realcoin" and late on rebranded as ''Tether'. For many years it was denied that the Company was founded by the same group ahead of crypto exchange #Bitfinex. #Tether was created by the founders of Bitfinex, which played a significant role in the early development and operation of Tether.  #USDT was traded in #Bitfinex in early stages. In 2016, Bitfinex experienced a high-profile hack resulting in the loss of approximately 120,000 #BTC , worth hundreds of millions of dollars at the time. In 2018 #Bitfinex has covered $850 million loss using #Tether funds in a compromised banking deal. #Tether was certainly not backed by US dollars. A court rule from October 2021 brought by the CTFC has concluded Tether held fiat reserves of only 28% of their total funds, resulting in a $41 Million Fine for lying about dollar reserves. Now that you understand a glimpse of the shady history behind #Tether let's move forward to #Evergrande: 🇨🇳 #Evergrande was the largest Real Estate Developer in #China in 2016 by top sales, founded by Mr. Hui Ka Yan, his fortune was estimated at $42.5bn (£34.8bn) when he topped the list of Asia's wealthiest people compiled by Forbes magazine in 2017. In 2008 the Chinese economy was flooded with money coming from stimulus packages provided by the Government, combined with the country's economy booming, it made lending very easy and cheap.  #Evengrande benefited from this economical scenario through massive borrowing and using its own assets as collateral however we already know what happens when a ''Private'' Company uses its own resources as security for a financial obligation. Its Real Estate Empire has triumphed for over a decade, with over 1,800 projects and 2.5 million customers. Evergrande became China's biggest financial worry:  Once the largest real estate developer in China, #Evengrande has filed for bankruptcy and in January 2021 a court in Hong Kong has ordered the liquidation of Chinese property developer Evergrande totalling over $300 billion.  The extensive borrowing to fund its ambitious real estate projects across China has caused the Company to go insolvent, with most households putting their life savings into Real Estate, it helped tip the chinese economy into a downturn.  #Evengrade, #Tether and #BTC crisis: Hint: #Blackrock, #Vanguard and #Citadel are heavily involved. Here's the shocking truth: #Tether claims no exposure to Evergrande debt, but whispers abound about its reserves being heavily invested in Chinese commercial paper, potentially including Evergrande's. If the dominoes fall in #China and Tether loses its 1-1 peg to the US dollar, the consequences could be enormous. #Tether downfall could trigger a massive selloff across the Crypto markets, dragging down #BTC , #Ether and the entire ERC-20 ecosystem. Have in mind, many crypto exchanges and DeFi platforms rely on the stability of USDT for daily operations.  After all it might be not be a coincidence #BTC is hitting new all time highs just 2 months after #Evengrade went default. It is VERY likely #Tether has a substantial amount invested in commercial paper from #Evengrade.  #BTC   and #Ether rely on Tether printing to inflate their prices. Hence large entities and ''whales'' involved in #Ether schemes to pump & dump ERC-20 tokens to cash out #ethereum at the cost of retail investors. It is crucial to understand that UBS, #HSBC banks and #BlackRock  are the primary purchasers of Evengrande’s debt and the situation is alarming because a seemingly small issue could trigger a much larger and devastating financial crisis, akin to a small snowball causing a massive avalanche. A massive amount of #BTC  could be liquidated to cover #Evergrande which can trigger a new financial crisis and the beginning of a new era for crypto.  Crypto 2.0 is the Final Outcome: Stable coins and Gold Backed Digital Assets Most of the crypto are backed by nothing rare exceptions with stable coins backed by government bonds but even government bonds are also in huge losses.  As a MASSIVE market crash approaches, there will be no other chance to save the money but to go in tangible assets (i:e gold and silver) or reliable crypto currencies backed up by physical metals, the opposite of pegged stable coins like Tether, printing their own money without audit.
