Anders 🏁🌏@X__Anderson · Jan 28 Ripple is having great momentum right now and is getting the licenses and regulations in place to offer their full services that involves crypto within the financial center of the US that's also the largest in the world in many metrics, New York! I don't think this is something that should just be glossed over. It is well known that New York has a very strict regulatory environment when it comes to crypto, it is the home of Wall Street after all. 🔹Ripple received the Bitlicense as far back as 2016, which is highly important to have in order to comply with New York's harsh regulatory environment involving cryptocurrencies. I believe Ripple was the second crypto-related company to receive a Bitlicense after Circle.  Funny enough, the creator of the Bitlicense Benjamin Lawsky, later on joined the board of directors at Ripple. 🔹In February of 2024 Ripple acquired Standard Custody and with the acquisition they received a Limited Purpose Trust Company Charter by the NYDFS. With this license they can now offer custody and settlement services for digital assets.  This fits really well with their Ripple Custody service for banks and various financial institutions, previously Metaco that Ripple acquired back in 2023. Some of the largest banks are thus Ripple Custody customers.  🔹In December of 2024 Ripple won regulatory approval for their RLUSD stablecoin from NYDFS, giving their USD stablecoin regulatory clarity to operate in New York.  🔹A few days ago in January of 2025 the SEC revoked the SAB 121 rule, meaning banks can now offer crypto custody services. (are you starting to see how everything is coming together). 🔹Finally TODAY Ripple received Money Transmitter licenses (MTLs) for New York and for Texas. Ripple can thus offer cross-border payments for banks in New York and offer end-to-end transactions for banks by the behalf of Ripple. This is in combination with Ripple already having acquired dozens of MTLs and other licenses around the world and in the US. Now with a pro-crypto SEC I assume a settlement for the Ripple lawsuit will come at some point. It seems that will be the last big regulatory hurdle for Ripple. By then having regulatory clarity to offer custody, stablecoin services as well as cross-border payments for banks in the heart of the US banking sector I'm sure will be a big thing!
