Moon Lambo@MoonLamboio · OCT 4 $XRP POST:  This is *NOT* how speculators behave during massive panic induced by scary sounding news developments. This is how speculators behave during inconsequential news developments. It's now been over 24 hours since we found out the asshats at the SEC decided to appeal the Ripple decision. There has been only minimum negative price action from this news. The news broke about 4pm central time yesterday. For roughly the next hour and a half the price of $XRP dropped quickly... BUT, it only dropped from about 56 cents to about 53 cents, or roughly 5%. For the next roughly 22 hours after that, the price of $XRP has mostly moved sideways. A little up, a little down, but nothing crazy. During moments of real MASSIVE PANIC by speculators,  holders don't only freak out for an hour and a half and then allow the market to more or less trade sideways for nearly a whole day.  It's not like people panic sell, then collectively decide to not panic over the news for 22 hours, and then resume panic selling. That is not how humans work. Nothing happened that would have caused a pause in panic if the panic were widespread. Almost no speculators care about the appeal, and those who did panic sell probably genuinely don't know that the appeal doesn't impact the legal status of $XRP, or its transaction on secondary markets. I'm not saying the price of $XRP can't go lower (especially if the entire market drops further, which is a very real possibility), but I certainly won't believe any potential future price drop is based on the appeal news.  Most of the $XRP price drop we've seen over the last couple days came before the appeal news, and at the same time the rest of the market (including Bitcoin) was dropping in price.
